Seasoned Pepper

Seasoned pepper is often called for in recipes where no salt is desired such as in pepper bread. These recipes have other ingredients other than pepper but pepper is the primary ingredient. Some of these recipes lean more toward different types of peppers with smaller amounts of other ingredients to make the mixture tastier.

Pepper is called the “king of spices” giving a depth of flavor to just about any type of dish. The different peppers generally consist of black pepper, white pepper and red peppers with onions and garlic to spice up the pepper combinations.

In addition, since pepper loses its peak flavor as soon as it is ground it should be used as soon as it is prepared.

One of a variety of pepper seasoning recipes is:

Pepper Mixture Recipe

2 tablespoons black pepper

2 tablespoons cayenne pepper

1 tablespoon garlic powder or granules

½ tablespoon onion powder or granules

Mix well and store in an air tight container.

This mixture is great for pepper bread and other recipes that are great no salt recipes.
